Allison: You're correct on everything, but there is a small nit to pick:
Windows 3.1 did not *ship* with CGA drivers in the box -- but you could
download them for free from MicroSoft's BBS -- I had to do that when my VGA
screen went kablooey, and had to limp in CGA for a coupla weeks.
