Altair 8800 kit?

I recently met someone who has an Altair 8800 that is still
in unassembled kit form. Apparently it was bought by the local
electric utility but they never got around to finding a use for
it. I have offered to buy it from the individual who owns it
but he would like to know what is a fair price to put on it.
Anyone care to offer an opinion as to what a realistic value
would be for this? Also, what is the average selling price
these days for an assembled 8800?
