Ok, I think the point is that the current rule works amazingly well and
that no matter of tinkering will make it any better. Its bendable, the
exceptions are tolerable, and everyone is happy.
Time to drop it.
And Bill, don't take any offense. People were just expressing what
they thought of your proposal. You'll know when you should be offended.
