A couple of other things. I once proved that a DECmate2 was a portable
computer by putting the CPU box under 1 arm, carrying the monitor (VR201)
by its handle in the other hand and standing the LK201 keyboard vertically
in the pocket of my coat. Got some odd looks...

The VR201 looks (from a distance to %member of the public) a little like
the cannonical land mine. I'd not do this now (too many terrorist
problems), but a few years about I carried one (I can't remember quite
why...) on a train with a little 'Danger Implosives' sign stuck on each
side. It got some _very_ odd looks. I'd checked, and a portable TV could
be taken on a train, and this monitor was no more dangerous than that...
