This would be excellent and I whole-heartedly back this proposal. I think
its time. This will be of great help in filtering out the cacophony of
crud messages (earplugs for off-topic messages).

Of course, this will most likely have to overcome the resistance to change
exhibited in the past, despite the fact that this would undoubtedly be the
right move for this discussion group.
