NO! no lube ever, the graphite stuff on that button is good enough.
But what makes squawking noise that button is worn to shape of the
little shiny spinning button, take the board off, and undo that
grounding strap, file the button until it's reasonably flat and
reinstall it.
I have done very often when I find a old drives like that.

Oh, you can. Still 5mb or 10mb. :)
Remember, all older MFM, ESDI and some early SCSI drives always need
annual or bi yearly LLF job.
