Yeah, I forgot to mention that I have volume III.

Remember during the 80s the big claim by Apple was over 10,000 software
applications available? And the other manufacturers had similar claims,
but Apple marketed this more effectively than the others because I can't
remember what other computer makers of the time claimed.

So in reality, of the mainstay computer makers at the time, who did have
the biggest applications base? Apple, Commodore, Atari, Radio Shack, TI,
or IBM? Or is this still a rather subjective topic (I expect this will
mostly be the case in the ensuing replies).
