The 8.4 Mb drives for the Model II were (the drive unit itself) a
Shugart mechanism that Tandy signed a really bad parts contract for,
even worse than the ones for the (Centronics) Line Printer 1 and the
(Diablo) Daisy Wheel Printer 1. The later hard disks were mostly
Tandon, at least until the company caved in to the PC compatible
craze.
