It's listed as a feature on my PowerBooks which came with Sys 7.1
installed, and the 7.5 upgrade on the Hard Drive. They list it as a power
saving technique.

I could quite easily have my PowerMac 8500/180 boot MacOS 8.1 from RAM disk
if I was so inclined. I'm not though, as I've no way to preserve the RAM
when the system is powered off.
