reverse-engineering power

Pop quiz: you've just found a 1993 prototype laptop that never made it
into production. It has a plug for DC input, but you don't have the power
source. What do you do?

(BTW, it was never meant for production. It's a demo platform for some
Headland/LSI chips, but pretty cool nonetheless.)
