I was unable to use a spare 5fge with my IIgs using its included cable.
Maybe I should try using the real IIgs cable now that I have one, but I'm
fairly sure it won't work anyway. It was a long shot when I tried it the
first time. (:

I believe the 2D was the last one to sync to 15kHz, or at least was the
first not to.
