Yeah, those modern reefer magnets are wimps -- seems to take at
least two of the things to hold a single sheet of paper, sometimes
more. (Well, _here_ consistently more, we have cats -- cat hair
being a measurable component of the atmosphere has its own effect
on removeable media devices).

The stories about customers attaching floppies to filecabinets with
speaker magnets (and one of those was a customer of mine) all seem
to be from the days of 8" floppies holding no more than a half meg
to a side. Modern media is harder to kill magnetically, aside from
the fact that it's hard to find an easily portable magnet that will
hold itself to to a surface through the thickness of 3.5" media
packaging.
