I seriously recommend the following web page:

It's the best source of info that I know of for Hard Drives.

I would also recommend the "POCKET PCRef" from Sequoia Publishing, ISBN
1-885071-13-2, it's about the size of a pocket Bible, and is the second
best source that I'm aware of. Great thing to have in your pocket when
you're hitting the swap meets or junk shops looking for a drive.
