I'm don't know how it works, but a friend of mine works at a radio station,
and they do their programming via digital recordings. From what he said,
their system (with some type of hardware compression scheme) uses about 1 MB
per minute for stereo recordings. This sounds like a quite acceptable time,
although it may require the hardware to play it back.

As far as only 70 minutes, I don't *think* it would be difficult to use both
tracks of a stereo recording as separate tracks??? I say that having no
idea of the channel separation :)!
