And this brings up why debate methodology? Aren't burnable CDs at the 1
or 2 cent per minute cost level? Seems to me, I would vote for overkill
in the recording process.

Even if hundreds of cassettes are involved, aren't most of these tapes
relatively short? I think most of mine are.

Might also be a good idea to use the standard audio sampling frequency.
There may be a variety of goals here, but I think the ultimate one is to
make an identical cassette, from a master signal, to use with a real
computer and proper tape drive.
