There's no doubt that the 4004 had significance. But not as much
technically as Intel would want you to believe.
And I think an argument could be made that the microprocessor to be
unveiled at the Vintage Computer Festival was "mass-produced". It was
produced in significant quantities to say the least. It had to be. It
provided the control for one of America's most lethal flying machines.
