I've always felt that a "hacker" is the type of person who does amazing
things...sometimes unusual things...with computers, perhaps making them do more
than they were originally designed to do, making them jump through hoops,
existing in a very symbiotic relationship with them...because that's what they
love to do, and choose to do with their time.
I gather that most of the folks on this list would fall into that category.
