This is a very valid point. I am sure that the spam people will have
already thought of this as a way to get valid email addresses. It was
often the case that once subscribed to an email list you could request a
list of all the subscribers. Now this is very rare and the subscription
list is blocked to everybody, but it is not a lot of work ( a few line
python/perl script) to extract addresses from messages and then discard
the body of the message.
