I learned quite a while ago that it is impossible to resolve the problem of when the
next millennium starts. Didn't you see the Wiley cartoon last week with the two
doomsayers parading, about to collide, with placards that said: "Only one year until
the end of civilization" and "Only two years until the end of civilization"?

It is better just to plan to celebrate twice. And if it really is the first time,
wouldn't you rather have celebrated at least once?
