This discussion is getting rather voluminous and off-topic. At least there
was a genuine attempt to bring the Y2K thread back on topic (by talking
about COBOL pitfalls and workarounds). And if you knew this was off-topic,
why did you bother to reply? (If that's not what you meant by "this thread
is not appropriate", sorry if I misunderstood.)
