And I learned a long time ago that thoroughly erasing the disk first
before formatting is a _good thing_. Especially since it seems that
nowadays most disks come pre-formatted for MS, and that may not be the
OS I'm writing from. I have few problems when the diskette is
written by any drive as long as it visits Mr. Bulk Eraser first, at
least for a data transfer -- no warranty implied for long-term
storage. But I've successfully written diskettes for TRS-80 Model 4
using a couple of Pentium systems on HD drives (thanking Tim Mann
every second for the improvements he's done to xtrs) with Linux.
