Sounds like an isocyanate based solvent in the adhesive, IIRC that does
that sort of damage whereas cyanides are simple respiratory poisins like
CO and paraquat. I once used some paint to respray a car which was
isocyanate based, the instructions said that it should not be used
without an air-line respirator.
