OT: how big would it be?

Well the 'straight 8' is about 2.5' tall, the PDP-5 is a bit taller but it
has its flip chips mounted vertically in the rack as opposed to back to back.

I don't doubt that you could fit an 8080 into a single 5' tall 19" rack.
