Painting a VT-100 ?

In my experience there are two kinds of yellow, stain from cigarette smoke
etc., and sun yellowing. Stains often do clean up, sun yellowing never.
I've tried every cleaning pad, cleanser, scrub powder I can find short of a
power sander, and when I'm done its a shiny clean, often smooth, yellow.
