HP 9831A questions

Hello all,

I have a few questions about the HP 9831A BASIC language desktop
computer:

1) Did it use the same plug in interface cards as the HP 9825 series?

2) What sort of plug-in ROM cartridges or other options were available
for it?

2a) What would happen if you plugged in an HP 9825 series ROM?

3) How long were they produced? I found them listed only in my 1978 HP
catalog.
