Well, that's true. But the 80-column card always went into the auxiliary
slot on the //e, thus freeing up slot 3 for special cards such as
accelerators. The Platinum //e came with a smaller 64K card that plugged
into the auxiliary slot for a total of 128K RAM standard.

Never heard of this. I used mine quite a bit and never had a problem.
Maybe there was some technical bulletin about it but I never got it.
