Maybe Microsoft wrote it but I thought that Shepherdson Microsystems had a hand in
Apple's Basic as well as writing ProDos.
I will poke around for that info. A few months ago I ran across a website which
gave a lot of the history of Shepherdson (later Optimized Systems Software).
