I know we've discussed wills and such in the past week or so, but
this reminds me of something else: The shortwave and ham radio enthusiasts
have what is called a "Committee to Preserve Radio Verifications". This
group has stickers to put on QSL-card albums so that the collection is
not discarded, but is (hopefully) sent to the Committee for preservation
(at the Library of American Broadcasting at the University of Maryland)

Perhaps something similar could be done with our old machines and
documentation?
