It's not age, it's architecture. The 4c family (1, 1+, 2, SLC/ELC/IPC/IPX)
are not supported, but the 4m (5, 10 and 20 -- the 10 and 20 in both
SuperSparc and HyperSparc) are supported.
Saftey Hint: If upgrading from 7 to 8 *do not* blindly start with
the "Solaris 8 Installation" CD -- it is the road to damntaion.
Boot "Solaris 8 Software, 1 of 2" and you won't spend two hours
questioning the parentage of the people responsible as I did.
