Actually, I gave an interview to a journalism student at some local
university through e-mail, and it came out very well done (I don't have
the URL off hand).
But I think this can be attributed to two things: 1) she's still young and
still believes in what she's doing (i.e. not jaded, not just trying to get
the story to press) and 2) all my replies were carefully crafted, having
the luxury of being able to edit and re-edit what I was saying.
In fact, I recycled answers from a previous e-mail I'd sent to another
reporter. I used these same answers for three e-mail interviews. It made
things much easier for me, and if there were any mistakes in the article,
they would be my fault since my responses would in all likelihood be
copied verbatim.
