If you have boards/contacts that are not plated with gold or solder, or
uninsulated wiring, you should probably look into possible corrosive effects
from mothballs. My various boxes are mainly bare or anodized aluminum and
have relatively little exposed copper. Do you suppose gold or solder
plating are effected by mothballs? BTW, if you put the equipment in a
plastic garbage bag without spiders or their eggs, it's unlikely any will
end up inside if you seal the bag.
If you're just trying to keep a bit of collected hardware that's unlikely
you'll ever make run anyway, since it's just a piece of a hardware
collection, that won't be of concern.
