VMS 5.1 is not recent anymore. You can get a license and some kits on
www.montagar.com
and a short intro (installing, configuring,...) on www.freddym.org
I don't know if NetBSD is supoprted on this machine, but if it, you could
try it out, too. It's very nice, too.

Shouldn't be a problem. If it has a SCSI Controller, just attach a
SCSI-CDROM (preferably a DEC) and it should work.
