        Nah .... Fax machines have been around about forever. I've got a
Western Union ThermoFax unit from the late 30's / early 40's. As I
recall the Crosley Readeo unit was available in about 1931 and produced
faxed newspapers .. via radio! Somewhat before it's time and the idea
quietly died. First published mention I can find quickly of facsimile
transmission
[commercial use .. that is] was in the 1912 edition of Wm. Maver's
"American Telegraphy" .. it showed in great detail the "Denison
fac-simile
telegraph system" ..odd spelling with the hyphen but that's how it was
cited in the book.
