How about a battery, a potentiometer, and a meter?

If you want something automated and fancy, many DACs are actually current
output devices that require current to voltage converters, just buffer and
use the current output. Try this, took just a couple weeks for mine to
arrive.

serial port based I/O module, looks like both analog and digital stuff plus
