Be aware that XT hard disk controllers are NOT mutually
interchangeable! If it was formatted on an XT compatible hard disk
controller, then you will need THAT model of controller to read it! (Or a
LOT of sector and below level programming!)
On the ATs, they standardized the controllers (almost), and you can read a
drive formatted with a different brand of controller.
