I'll tell you exactly why it is. It's because no one wants to
pay any one very much for anything.

"I have one, but don't want to get rid of it"

   If offered enough for it, more of them would be willing to
   part with it.

"I have one I want to get rid of, but not in your area, and not
willing to ship"

   It involves work, the expenditure of time and effort, to ship
   things. Since general list attitude seems to make it popular
   to complain about the costs to ship, and no one wants to pay
   much for anything, some people just don't want to bother with it.

Personally, the stuff I don't want anymore, I just throw away.
Just tossed out a pile of Macintosh and Sun keyboards.

Perhaps the people that have the "foo" and respond in the manner
that irks you so, are subconsiencely (sp?) making a statement.
