Unrelated to classiccmp perhaps, but one thing in the UK and the US that is
rekindling some interest in electronics is BattleBots/Robotwars. These are
basically high powered and armored R/C cars w/weapons that compete in
televised events. Building one of these things requires that you learn a
bit about electronics (and mechanics). There's hope for a few of the
younger generation if they get inspired...
