I see I failed to point out that they were for the Game Boy Colour, which is
a much newer system, though the only difference to the classic system is the
tacked-on colour support.
BTW, the GB is not based on the 6502, but on a particular Nintendo Z80 with
special sound registers. The NES uses a 6502 with similar features, however.
