I'm just reading through this thread. How about CLOS?
"Common Lisp Operating System" IIRC. A topic in 1989 or so.

P.S. <rave> The error messaging for the DEC Vax Ada compiler
   was simply the best designed and constructed compiler software
   I've ever seen. It was a complex language and DEC knew it Well.
   Errors resulted in an opportunity for (the compiler) to re-train you
   on the finer points of the language. Too bad the Reaganomics
   (read: DOD) revolution didn't last.</rave>
