Exatron Stringy Floppy drives?

Ernest, they're an alternative to a floppy drive for TRS-80 Model I
computers. IIRC, they plugged into the card edge connector at the upper
left corner of the CPU. I don't know if they could plug into the
Expansion Interface, but I see no reason why not. The cartridges are a
continuously(sp) streaming media. it's one loop of tape. Each one would
hold (I _think_) 90KB of data each.

I don't know how popular they are - I've only seen one in my life and that
was back in 1987 or so.
