Half the time I don't even look at the other bidders, or if sniping, may
have placed my bid days ago.

OTOH I don't intentionally step on anybodies bid, ie several items, I bid
where there are no bids.

STuff I really want though, I bid on, and if my friend keeps bidding, well
why the heck are they? Regardless its easier to settle later, after I win
the bid.
