Apollo Token Ring was over peer to peer coax.
Each machine had two ports (ring, like HPIL, not Star) with
pass through. There was a neat Dead Man feature where a
bad node guaranteed to pass all signals through when inactive.
I think there were maximum ring limits. 256?
To build a large network you needed some king of switcher
thingie. Next?
