OT: paging MAC expert(s) --- What's a Performa?

There does appear to be a problem with transporting files/data from a computer
to a MAC. Apparently, if I move things to a PC diskette, I can only read the
content as data on the MAC, so there's got to be another way to get stuff from
the web to these MAC's. I'm not patient enough to wait for a transfer at 2400
baud on those GV Teleport Bronze modems.
