Have you tried cleaning the bottom of the cartridge? I read somewhere
that you don't let
the cartridge go 100% dry but fill up while there is still ink in the
head.
I tend to fill up a cartridge once and throw it way after the second
use.

Ps. At the risk of putting this back on topic, I used some rubber renew
on the rollers
so they would grab better ( and filed up the cartridge ) today for a
bunch of schematic
printing.
