If one thinks back to like 1971 or so with the movie 'The
Towering Inferno', it showed large water tanks at the top of the
building as well. I don't know if it's a standard building-code type
thing or if it's specifically used for fire fighting or not, but it's
certainly not the first time I've seen mention of it.
