There are resellers who pay VERY well for RD54's. I dunno why, with
SCSI modules easily available (not cheap, but common), but they do.
I recently traded 2 non-DEC Maxtors (4194? The one that is RD54) for a
DEC-branded QLogic 1040 and some other baubles. Those things go for
$130+ on eBay.
