Jerome Fine replies:

I just bought a "bunch" of ST32550N drives for only $ 20.00 each. I will be buying
some more. Would the "N" drives solve the problem instead of the "W"?

On eBay, they are sometimes even less.

It does not seem worth while to carry on with hardware that does not match
when the ST32550N drives are so inexpensive!

I am using the ST32550N drives under W95, W98 and a real PDP-11.
I could probably boot from them is needed, but I on W98 I will be using
a pair of 40 GByte EIDE drives. Can anyone recommend a good RAID 1
controller? I tried out one from EPOX (EP-DR02P3) and it does not work.

Sorry - none at all!

But I could use some help in deciding how to backup the 40 GByte EIDE drive.
