Dumpster in the alley.

That's the same intersection that around 78 they had an L train hit another
and go off the platform, the Ravenswood line. I used to work in that area,
right off State and Wacker in a basement suite for Williams and Meyer -
photgraphic & advertising camera and photolab work. I know that area well,
even back before Jane Byrne blocked off the area on State from Lake to
Wacker for bus-only traffic and tore down the adult theaters at the SW
corner of Wacker and State. Harold Washington College wasn;t there then, no
one really had heard of him yet (post Jane Byrne, post Richard J. Daley,
pre-Richard M. Daley). I think it was Loop College then, or maybe Loop is
gone and replaced with Washinton College.

Yep I'm a native of Chi-town - graduated in 75 from JF Kennedy HS out at
55th and Narragansett on the west side, left in 76 for the AF and have only
gone back for visits. Was there in 78 on leave when the L went off and went
downtown after the cleanup was 90% donw - what a mess. My sister still
lives in Chicago - right off the NW corner of Midway (Central and Archer
area), a very noisy area due to aircraft flyovers.

I'm surprised a city college would even rathole older equipment - they
generally chuck things as soon as possible to prevent someone from
attempting to use them and keeping them from a reason for purchasing brand
new. When I was going to IIT (when I thought I wanted to be a
draftman/architect.
