OT: cleaning pots on my vintage audio amp

Not really, since far too many companies produce produce with volume
controls, for example, that are too limited in the number of
increments; they don't allow one to get the volume "just right," and
are a nuisance. The disappearance of pots isn't the only problem;
variable capacitors are going away as well. Analog radio tuners have
benefits as well. Digital circuitry needs to be kept in its place and
not used where it doesn't work as well as analog circuitry. Too much
overcomplication just so that people can say that something is
"digital" ...as if the average consumer actually understands what
digital electronics is.
