  D'oh!! I used Ctrl-[ on some of my DEC serial terminals, until I
found a kbd that still had the function keys labelled, but it never
occurred to me here.

  That's usually my attitude, but the last time I took a keyboard apart,
a cheap PC clone, I picked up tiny springs for an hour. Not worth the
hassle.
